Nursing Student Aide Program
The nursing student aide (NSA) program at Gadsden Regional Medical Center provides nursing students* the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in an acute hospital setting.
NSAs work with an RN preceptor. As an NSA, you will be able to work with your preceptor to become competency validated on ABN-approved nursing activities. Once your training is complete, your preceptor will be able to delegate approved tasks to you. Approved activities include tasks such as: simple dressing changes, maintenance of ostomies, peripheral venous phlebotomy, insertion/removal of Foley catheters and administration of some routine medications.
*Students must have completed their first semester of nursing school to participate in the NSA program.
