GRMC Awards Howard, McIntyre Clinical, NonClinical Managers of the Year

Gadsden, Ala. – Gadsden Regional Medical Center CEO Corey Ewing presented Traci Howard, RN, and Kim McIntyre, RN, as the hospital Clinical Manager of the Year and NonClinical Manager of the Year, respectively.

Mrs. Howard Traci is the Director of our Outpatient Care Center and Endoscopy which includes PreAdmission Teaching and Testing, Same Day Surgery Prep and Recovery, and Endoscopy Suites.

The nomination for Mrs. Howard reads, “Traci is exceptional in her love and commitment to this organization. Many times this is demonstrated in the “little things” that are truly “big things.” Traci always adds a little extra to the set up for a meeting, committee, or celebration. She will have seasonal decorations, a special treat, or signs. Her efforts appear effortless, and we truly know it is not. Her work is an act of love for the people she works with in this facility which makes all around her feel special. Whether it is our Daisy Celebration, Nurse Week, or a charge nurse meeting, Traci will go above and beyond to make the group feel special.”

Traci has been with GRMC for nearly 27 years. She and her husband live in Alexandria.

Mrs. McIntyre is the Informaticist for the hospital and provides immediate assistance to medical staff with the hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR) support.

McIntyre’s nomination reads, “Kim is an intelligent, professional, kind, supportive teammate. One of Kim’s greatest strengths is her willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. She has the task of working with providers to ensure their optimum use of the EMR and many times she is dealing with resistant “pupils.” But, she is strong and knowledgeable enough to work through any barriers to get providers on the system. She makes herself available to troubleshoot at all hours and sacrifices her personal time to meet their training needs. In addition to being great at her “real job,” she is willing to jump in and help in other areas as needed.

Kim has served in this role for nearly five years. She and her family live in Southside.
