4th Annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive Will Support Etowah Community Food Bank
2/23/2026
GADSDEN, AL – Gadsden Regional Medical Center is working to fight hunger in the community by collecting peanut butter to donate to Etowah Community Food Bank. The fourth annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive starts on March 2nd and will continue through March 27th. Gadsden Regional Medical Center collects peanut butter because it is one of the least donated items even though it is high in nutritional value and is shelf stable.
“Every year, Gadsden Regional Medical Center makes it a priority to give back to our community, and Jars of Love is one of our favorite ways to show that we care,” said Michael Hall, CEO. “In our community, an estimated 17% of adults and over 22% of children experience hunger and don’t have access to enough food, which can contribute to poor health. The Etowah Community Food Bank is working to address hunger in our area and we are proud to support their efforts, one jar of peanut butter at a time.”
This year, Gadsden Regional Medical Center has a goal to collect 1,500 jars of peanut butter and other nut butters for the Etowah Community Food Bank. On top of accepting physical donations of jars, individuals and businesses may now support through an online giving platform where all funds raised are given directly to the Etowah Community Food Bank. Visit bit.ly/GRMCJarsOfLove2026 to view details and make a donation.
Please bring physical donations of jars to Will Mackey, marketing director, located in the 500 Building on Gadsden Regional’s campus. Donations of jars may also be dropped off in the boxes located at the cafeteria or human resources. Pick ups may also be arranged for local businesses upon request. Once the drive concludes on March 27th, all donations will be picked up by the Etowah County Food Bank and distributed throughout the county.
