Labor and Delivery Renovations
Gadsden Regional Medical Center is currently in the process of renovating our labor and delivery floor. The project began in July of 2020 and is expected to be complete in late November 2021. Our project incorporates design improvements that will focus on creating a welcoming environment that promotes healing and wellness for women, newborns and their families.
Highlights of the project include:
- Remodel of 30,000 total square feet
- Remodel of triage rooms, labor and delivery rooms, postpartum rooms, nursery, nurses’ stations, cesarean section suites, waiting room and all hallways
- More than $1.5 million is being invested into the project
The labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms at Gadsden Regional Medical Center are designed to provide a comfortable, patient-centered atmosphere for each step of the birthing process. Newborns can remain at the bedside throughout the stay. Each suite is also fully equipped to help with delivery and medical care for the first hours of your baby’s life. If you require a C-section, we also have surgical suites dedicated to women’s services, so you will be able to deliver your baby in an operating room located right on our labor and delivery floor. The newly-renovated labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms are spacious and home-like with individual bathrooms and showers.
Gadsden Regional Medical Center delivered more than 800 babies last year, and we look forward to helping you welcome your new little one into the world in our newly-renovated unit. Whether you’re becoming a new parent or adding to your family, Gadsden Regional Medical Center strives to make your experience memorable.
