The Gadsden Regional Medical Center Volunteers have an annual scholarship established to benefit students in our community who are pursuing degrees in the medical field.
The scholarships will be awarded to four students for the amount of $500 per semester (fall/spring) for the 2017-2018 academic year. Fields of study include, but are not limited to: nursing, phlebotomy, and radiologic technology.
Preference will be given to students from Etowah County who demonstrate financial need.
Students should fill out the enclosed application and submit a copy of their transcript. In addition, an essay describing the student’s career goals is required.
Students should also request two letters of recommendation. These letters may be from a principal, teacher, counselor, pastor, or any adult who can attest to the student’s character. Letters may be mailed separately from the application packet.
A completed application packet, as well as the letters of recommendation, must be postmarked by Wednesday, March 22, 2017, in order for a student to be considered for the scholarship.
