Our neighbors can take comfort in knowing that Gadsden Regional's Emergency Department is a contemporary 24 hour emergency care center. We work closely with local rescue personnel to provide quality patient care seven days a week. Our triage area provides a convenient area to quickly evaluate each emergency so patients receive a timely response to their medical needs. Patient care at Gadsden Regional's Emergency Department is provided by physicians who are committed to our community. In addition, our Emergency Physicians and staff are supported by specialist who are on call 24 hours a day.

Recently upon a visit to the Emergency Department I noticed that another patient was seen by the physician first, even though I was the first to arrive. Why did this happen?
Upon arrival to our Emergency Department, all patients are directed to our triage. Our triage provides each patient with an assessment of their condition by a registered nurse. Patients are then seen according to the severity of their condition. We realize that every patient wants to be seen as quickly as possible. Our triage method assist us in expediting this process.
Will my family physician be contacted regarding my visit to the Emergency Department?
If your condition warrants further evaluation, or if you or your physician request immediate notification of your primary care physician, they will be contacted by our Emergency Department staff.
What will happen if I need a specialist?
Gadsden Regional Medical Center has a full range of specialist on call for our Emergency Department. Our specialist can be contacted by the Emergency Physician or your primary care physician.
