Patient Testimonials

Peggy and Paul Walden
I am a seven year survivor of breast cancer and my husband is a six year survivor of prostate cancer. We feel that we owe our survival, to a very great extent, to the doctors and staff of the Gadsden Regional Cancer Center. We have never met a more compassionate, dedicated, or medically knowledgable group. We had complete confidence in each of them and felt they were truly concerned about the care we received. We are very thankful for each of them.

In 1994 I found out I had Hodgkin's. Months of Chemotherapy and weeks of radiation were to follow. I was 24 years old and had never had a serious injury or illness. Finding out you have cancer is a hard thing to deal with no matter how old you are. I owe a lot of thanks to the Gadsden Regional Cancer Center. I had to have radiation everyday for 4 weeks. Monday-Friday up early in the morning coming to the center getting my treatment, which normally took about 30 minutes, was no walk in the park. The staff always went out of their way to make each and everyday of my treatment as easy as they could. They were always willing to listen about how the treatments made me feel, always greeted me with a smile and conversation like they understood what I was going through. When you have to deal with such an illness as cancer, it is the little things that people go out of their way to do that really matter.
I am truly thankful we have such a competent facility loaded with fine professionals who do their job so well and truly care for the patient. To all the staff I thank you for helping me through a rough time in my life.
